• A rebooted revival of Joanna Lee and Robin Norton-Hale’s operatic adaption of Jill Murphey’s iconic children’s book.

In Autumn 2023, Becca was hired by OperaUpClose with the remit of remounting their popular children’s opera with a focus on adding more interaction, incorporating sign language, bringing the musicians into the piece and tearing down the fourth wall. She ran a playful and engaging rehearsal room with a new cast of singers to restage the work and realise this little gem’s full potential. Peace at Last toured schools in the South West, as well as Mast Studio Theatre, Southampton, The Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe, and The Mansfield Museum.

The feedback from this tour was overwhelmingly positive, both from theatre audiences and teachers alike.

It brought together a cast and chorus of over 30 East Asian artists and involved detailed movement and dramaturgical work in the rehearsal room. It also involved collaboration with Video designer, Erin Guan and Scenographer Ingrid Hu to tie the deign of the piece into the dramaturgy and create visual symbols for the real world and the dystopian game fantasy of Turandot.

A concert performance of the new work was performed after a two day Research and Development phase. Funded by NatWest Back her Business.
